About the art

Sompolińska’s art is built on humans, their raw emotions and the full picture of the “self” that often is not entirely seen by the individual who the “self” is an inseparable part of.

She experiments with vivid colours, texture contrasts and various art languages. Her art is aimed at revealing intertwined conflicting emotions and the feelings that we rarely allow to the surface.

The artist doesn’t like to define her art too rigidly, as she believes it limits the audience’s freedom. Through the eerie inside portraits, Sompolińska wants to connect with the audience and give an untied space for one’s feelings to take first place: Just look in the eyes of the canvas, slow down and let yourself be still for a moment, allow yourself to feel what the eyes are trying to tell you…
